Mission, Vision, Values

To inspire lifelong learning for all through play, creativity, and exploration.

PCM strives to be a national leader in the power of play and the first step for children to gain the confidence and tools all children need to become culturally aware, creative thinkers and leaders as adults.

Play is essential. We know that there is power in play to connect, to heal, to learn and to grow.

We are inclusive. We create a safe and welcoming community in which visitors and staff share, embrace and respect all backgrounds, family structures, and identities.

We are accessible. We are accessible to all children regardless of their socio-economic status and physical, cognitive or learning differences.

We are creative. Our broad perspectives inform the design of our innovative spaces, exhibits, programs, training and services and we pride ourselves on the quality, beauty, and uniqueness of our learning environment.

We are research-based. Research guides our collaborations, exhibits, programs and success.
