Position Title: Development and External Relations Manager

Reports to: Director of Development and External Relations

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Development and External Relations Manager: PCM is seeking a talented and motivated External Relations Manager to maintain and grow its fundraising and outreach efforts. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer, relationship builder, event planner, and communicator with the interest to manage and achieve ambitious goals. 

Responsibilities:

Fundraising  

  • Coordinate and execute donor and prospect strategy developed by the Director of Development and External Relations. This may include development and execution of cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events, individual solicitations, prospect research, and regular mailings. 
  • Oversee the membership lifecycle including moving visitors to members and members to donors through membership upgrades and annual giving.   
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and External Relations to create and manage corporate and foundation identification, solicitation, and reporting for corporate sponsorships and partnerships.  

Events management:  

  • Lead the planning, logistics, and execution of all fundraising/cultivation events, including the annual golf tournament, gala, and Play ON!, ensuring events are mission-aligned, on budget, and meet revenue goals. 
  • Manage and coordinate all special event volunteer committees  
  • Develop timelines and content in collaboration with the External Relations team to promote fundraising events through print, email, social media, and other relevant channels. 
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for event-related tasks, ensuring a positive and productive experience for all participants. 
  • Develop and manage event budgets, track income and expenses, and prepare post-event reports to analyze effectiveness and inform future planning. 
  • Coordinate all logistics including venue setup, catering, signage, entertainment, permits, and technology needs to deliver high-quality experiences. 
  • Maintain a comprehensive fundraising event calendar and ensure accurate data entry and reporting in the donor CRM system. 
  • Regularly assess event formats and outcomes, bringing creativity and fresh ideas to evolve fundraising efforts and expand audience reach. 

General Administrative Duties 

  • Provide PCM voice for communications for both internal and external materials, including donor communications, press releases, board communications, web content, newsletter, as well as others as needed. 
  • Provide administrative support to Museum Leadership Team as it relates to fundraising and external relations including scheduling prospect meetings, board committee meetings, and various office maintenance tasks.  
  • Collaborate with External Relations team to accomplish department goals. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3 years professional experience in fundraising, marketing, or communications preferred. An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, and a capable problem-solver.  
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, project management, and verbal/written communication skills.  
  • Proficiency with CRM Systems, Microsoft Excel and Word, social media platforms, and Constant Contact or other email marketing platforms.  
  • Experience with HTML and Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, or other software 

Compensation:

Full Time: $50,000 – $52,000 dependent on experience and skills, health/dental, 403b, and paid time off.
