About your Support:

At Providence Children’s Museum (PCM), we believe every child deserves to grow, thrive, and heal through play. But today, we’re seeing more and more children struggling with the invisible impacts of anxiety, trauma, and emotional stress. It’s time to respond.

Our response is to enhance our mental health-focused programming by bringing on a dedicated Mental Health Consultant—a trained expert who will guide our staff, design supportive programming, and help PCM become a national model for trauma-informed play spaces.

We invite you to support this project at Providence Children’s Museum honoring Heidi Brinig—beloved longtime staff member and founder of Families Together, which uses play to strengthen bonds between children in foster care and their families. As our first dedicated mental health consultant, Heidi will launch this critical work, and the position will be permanently endowed in her name to celebrate her 30+ years of service. Your gift will help carry her vision forward, bringing hope and healing through play to generations to come.

Your support will:

  • Fund a professional Mental Health Consultant to work directly with PCM staff and programs
  • Create inclusive, emotionally supportive experiences for all children, especially those impacted by trauma
  • Provide training and resources for our educators and caregivers
  • Establish The Heidi Brinig Mental Health Initiative as a permanent legacy of care and connection
